Are straight drop awnings right for your home?
A straight drop awning is the simplest way to shade an outdoor area. The fabric rolls down from the top of the opening and stops at the height you choose, so you can drop it fully against low afternoon sun or part way to take the glare off the table. Mesh fabrics let air and filtered light through, which keeps a verandah comfortable rather than closed in.
Fabric choice is mostly sunscreen mesh, for shade with a view out, or privacy mesh where you are overlooked by neighbours or the street. Operation can be spring, crank or motorised.
